Pros: - Decent support for the first 6 months or so. - Great system of franchisees. Cons: - They will push you to validate with newer franchisees because none of the experienced franchisees (1 year+) are happy. - Training is lead by a local franchisee that has to also run his business even when training, so there are often times interruptions to training. Training is also geared toward water mitigation with very little mold remediation training, and no fire mitigation or reconstruction training, even though you pay royalties on all of those services. - Franchisor omitted criminal history from the Item 3. He is now trying to remove himself from future FDDs assuming so that he doesn't have to disclose any of this. - The "proprietary thermal technology" they sell you on is a heater they buy from another company and that every restoration company uses. - Franchisor unilaterally increased royalties for two years without updating our agreements or the FDD. They have since tried to cover their tracks by lowering them to align with the FDD and refunding the difference. - Their idea of providing lead gen is instructing you to sign up for pay per lead sources. - The $80k opening equipment package is worth $20k at best. - The 30-40% net profit margin is not realistic. - Many locations have been forced to transfer their territory to neighboring franchisees out of distress. Some have closed without transferring. - "National Accounts" consists of being on insurance preferred vendor programs. - Money from the 2% brand fund is not being deployed currently. At least that we know of...
